Susan Webb Lee

Susan has been creating textile art since 1979.  She has exhibited nationally and in 7 foreign countries.  Her quilts have been collected by the renowned textile designer, Jack Lenor Larsen, as well as by major corporations and museums.

Susan is a member of the Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), the Southern Highland Craft Guild, the Weaverville Art Safari, Piedmont Craftsmen, Art Quilt Network, and Ladies in New Textiles (L.I.N.T.)  

Her most recent pieces incorporate hand-dyed and ice-dyed cottons, along with commercial fabrics.  Hand-quilting is often used, which provides a softer overall look.

In 2021, Susan had an exhibit of her quilts at Grace Gallery in Mills River, NC. There were 21 quilts on display for 6 weeks.  

This is the fabric that I used in 'Diamonds and Rust.' It was originally solid black, but after batiking and discharging, these patterns resulted.
